Templates v2.2

This page contains both data sheets and data templates. Data sheets are used in the field and are entered directly into the SWAMP database by the field collection agency using the data entry forms. Data templates are filled out in the laboratory and loaded into the database, usually by the Data Management Team (DMT).

Station Reconnaissance Template (final version 07/22/05)
A two page Microsoft Excel file used for field reconnaissance of SWAMP stations. It can be completed in the office and/or field in hard copy, or in soft copy if a laptop is used. If a hard copy is produced, it is helpful to transfer that information to soft copy and then rename the file with the SWAMP station code. There is a description of some of the items at the bottom of the second page. If possible, please attach maps, pictures, and/or drawings that will help the field crew find the station.

Station Template (final version 04/20/07)
A Microsoft Excel file that contains specific information related to the station (e.g., StationCode, Waterbody, Hydrologic Subarea) which allows for stations to be categorized by geographic area. This provides continuity and consistency among tables within the database. It is critical that this form be completed prior to sampling and loaded into the database so that laboratory results are correctly loaded to the database. If you have any questions concerning this file, contact Cassandra Lamerdin.

Field Data Sheets
These links contain SWAMP field data sheets for field observations, discrete probe measurements, water, sediment, and tissue sampling. For questions about water, sediment, and tissue field data sheets, contact Cassandra Lamerdin.

Water Quality Field Data Sheet (final version 06/08/07)
This Microsoft Excel file contains multiple worksheets related to water, sediment, and tissue sampling. The first worksheet is a supplement to help standardize the field observations and general use of the data sheets. The second page on the first worksheet contains the Beaufort Scale which will help the user in determining sea state. The worksheet titled ‘SWAMP_Water_Probe’ is used for field observations, water chemistry sampling, and probe measurements. The worksheet titled ‘SWAMP_Sediment’ is used for sediment sampling. The last seven worksheets can be used for bioaccumulation (clams, mussels, and fish) sampling and lab processing.

An example of a completed Water Quality Field Data Sheet is available as a PDF file.

San Francisco Regional Water Quality Control Board (RWQCB2) Field Data Sheet (final version 08/30/05)
This Microsoft Excel file contains RWQCB2′s worksheets related to water sampling and continuous monitoring sampling events. The first worksheet is a supplement to help standardize the field observations and general use of the data sheets. The second page on the first worksheet contains the Beaufort Scale which will help the user in determining sea state.

Field Results Template (final version 06/01/06)
A Microsoft Excel file that contains one worksheet with the appropriate fields required to load historic field data into the database.  A data submission example is provided as well as all applicable lookup list values for field data as of the final posted version.

Chemistry Results Template (final version 08/03/07)
A Microsoft Excel file that contains two worksheets including Results and LabBatch.  A data submission example is provided as well as all applicable lookup list values for chemistry and bacteria data as of the final posted version.

Toxicity Results Template (final version 08/03/07)
A Microsoft Excel file that contains three worksheets including Results, Summary, and ToxBatch. A data submission example is provided as well as all applicable lookup list values for toxicity data as of the final posted version.
